Puppy Pose, which Erin often calls heart melting pose, is halfway between Child's Pose and Downward Dog. The hips stay over the knees while the chest melts toward the mat, stretching the chest and shoulders.
How to do Puppy Pose
- Start in tabletop.
- Keep your hips over your knees.
- Walk your hands forward.
- Release your chest toward the mat.
- Rest your forehead or chin down with no tension in your neck.
Common mistakes
- Letting the hips sink back toward the heels.
- Straining the neck.
Make it easier
- Place a block under your forehead or chest.
