Crow

Bakasana

Crow is an arm balance where the knees rest on the backs of the upper arms and the feet lift off the floor. It takes core strength and practice, and Erin teaches it as something to play with.

How to do Crow

  1. Squat with your hands under your shoulders.
  2. Bring your knees high onto the backs of your arms.
  3. Shift your weight forward.
  4. Engage your core.
  5. Lift one foot, then the other, or both.

Common mistakes

  • Looking straight down, which pulls the weight back.
  • Letting the elbows splay out.

Make it easier

  • Stand your feet on a block.
  • Lift one foot at a time.
