Goddess

Utkata Konasana

Goddess is a wide legged squat with the knees bent and the arms at 90 degrees. Erin pairs it with Five-Pointed Star and moves between the two with the breath, and she likes it for building strength in the legs and arms at the same time.

How to do Goddess

  1. Step your feet wide on your mat.
  2. Bend both legs and sink down into your hips.
  3. Draw your knees out toward your pinky toes.
  4. Bring your arms to 90 degrees with your palms facing in.
  5. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and stay strong through your arms.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the knees fall in past the toes.
  • Leaning the torso forward instead of staying upright.
  • Letting the arms droop out of the 90 degree shape.

Make it easier

  • Do not sink as low.
  • Rest your hands on your thighs.
