Camel is a kneeling backbend that opens the chest and the front of the hips. Erin calls it a big heart opener.
How to do Camel
- Kneel with your knees about hip distance apart.
- Bring your hands to your low back with your fingers pointing down.
- Draw your elbows back.
- Press your hips forward and lift your chest.
- Reach for your heels only if it feels right.
Common mistakes
- Throwing the head back first.
- Letting the hips drift back behind the knees.
Make it easier
- Keep your hands on your low back.
- Tuck your toes under to bring your heels closer.
