Erin – Yoga Instructor – E-RYT 500
Owner - Five Parks Yoga
Erin received her RTY Foundations 200-hour teaching certification in 2008 in Arvada, Colorado. For the next several years, she taught classes at her neighborhood studio.
In December of 2011, she and her husband moved their family of five to Tamarindo, Costa Rica for six months. They fell in love with Costa Rica and decided to split their time between Colorado and Costa Rica. Upon her first return to Colorado, she opened her own studio, Five Parks Yoga, which allowed her to teach in both Colorado and Costa Rica.
In an effort to bridge the gap between Colorado and Costa Rica, in February of 2015, Erin and her husband Matt started filming her yoga classes and posting them on YouTube, so that her students could practice with her when she wasn’t in town, (either town!). Since that time, she has posted over 300+ classes and now has 235,000 subscribers and students from all over the world. While her original intention was to simply share her classes with her students at her two homes, the unexpected result of her YouTube channel has given her an opportunity to connect with students from all over the world. Visit Erin online at: https://www.youtube.com/c/FiveParksYoga
Erin strives to share her love for self-discovery through the practices of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga during this training.

Matt – Logistics & Photography
Teacher Training Coordinator
Matt plays a pivotal role in Five Parks Yoga, managing marketing, filming, production, retreat coordination, teacher training logistics, and communication. Since 2014, Matt has been helping to grow Five Parks Yoga, bringing decades of experience working alongside Erin in various roles. With a background in technical theater and a college minor in film, Matt spent his early years honing the skills that now elevate Five Parks Yoga’s production and event coordination. After leaving other professional pursuits, he shifted his focus entirely in 2020 to the growth and success of Five Parks Yoga, combining his technical expertise and creative vision to support Erin and the community they’ve built together.
As the driving force behind Five Parks Yoga’s logistics, Matt produces Erin’s yoga classes, co-hosts yoga retreats, coordinates countless workshops & events, and manages all aspects of filming schedules, social media and marketing logistics. A natural problem-solver and Erin’s trusted right-hand man, Matt ensures every event runs seamlessly from start to finish.
Matt has an in-depth understanding of yoga’s history, practice, and value. He has co-hosted 25+ yoga retreats, workshops and events with Erin as well as amassing over 2,000 hours of exposure to Erin’s yoga postures & flows while filming, editing and producing each one of Erin’s online yoga classes. His behind-the-scenes role gives him a unique perspective on the intricacies of yoga practice and instruction.
Matt’s connection to Costa Rica runs deep, having lived in Tamarindo for half the year since 2011. He’s fallen in love with the culture, community, and natural beauty of the area. Matt and Erin’s three children also grew up in Tamarindo, attending The TIDE Academy, where Matt taught classes on photography, filmmaking, and visual storytelling. His passion for capturing emotion and beauty in photos shines through his work as a professional photographer and videographer at TamarindoFilms.com.
During teacher trainings, Matt serves as the Training Coordinator, guiding participants through the entire pre-training process and assisting with logistics. His approachable and supportive nature ensures that every question is answered, and every participant feels prepared. With his camera in hand, Matt also captures meaningful moments from the trainings, retreats and workshops, preserving pieces of the experiences in beautiful photographs. His dedication and enthusiasm make him an integral part of the Five Parks Yoga experience.
